About Operation Homefront of North Carolina
Who We Are:

Operation Homefront of North Carolina (OHNC) provides emergency financial, food and other assistance to military families living in North Carolina who are experiencing financial difficulties during periods of active / combat deployment and after a military member has returned home wounded and disabled.  Serving all branches of the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, Reserves and Coast Guard), our primary focus are service members/families in the lower paid enlisted ranks (E1 - E6). 

 The funds raised by YOU in our 3rd annual Freedom 5K Run and Walk will focus on directly benefiting North Carolina military children, especially those enduring the hardships and challenges of a parent's deployment and injuries.  Below is a description of some of the programs we will be able to provide using the money raised this year:


"Back to School Program" Youth Support Program:
OHNC's Back to School Program supplies children of E1-E6 active duty military service members with the necessary tools to succeed in their educational pursuits.  In 2012, our goal is to distribute over 2,000 backpacks - saving military families an estimated $75,000.  We can accomplish this goal with YOUR help!

"Boots and Booties" Baby Showers:
OHNC's Boots and Booties Baby Showers provide pregnant mothers with some essential baby supplies to make sure they are prepared for their new arrival.  It also provides the expectant moms an environment to bond with other women in similar situations, and gain the necessary support and friendships they need to make the newborn stage a little easier while dealing with deployed or injured spouses.  

"Adopt-A-Family" Holiday Meal/Gift Program:
Our Adopt-A-Family holiday program allows donors to reach out and give back to our young military families by helping to provide food and presents for the holidays.  The program was initiated in 2009, assisting 83 families - by 2011, close to 500 NC military families received meal/gift assistance!  We can continue to grow this number with YOUR help!   
Funding:

Operation Homefront of North Carolina is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization funded solely through private contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations. OHNC uses its core Emergency Financial Assistance Fund to provide assistance to families.  We do not receive any federal, state or local government funding nor do we receive assistance from United Way.
